Gothic suit of armor
Handcrafted Gothic suit of armor - as featured on the Discovery Channel® Series “Conquest”
In 13th century Europe, armorers began adding large sections of plate armor to chain mail. One of the most beautiful styles was Italian "Gothic" armor, which, by virtue of its rounded design offered considerable protection (against both lance and sword) and substantial comfort, particularly for the era. Our reproduction is true to the original in every detail. Just like armor found in Ravenna (Italy) National Museum and Warsaw’s National Museum. Hand-forged of 18-gauge steel by master blacksmiths at Windlass Steelcrafts. Fully articulated. Leather straps. Suit over 6’ tall; 60 lbs. Accomodates knights 5’9” – 6’4” tall and 190-225 lbs. Helmet features moveable visor.
In the Middle Ages, the cost of a suit of Gothic armor was roughly equivalent to that of today's top-of-the-line Mercedes Benz®. Ours is a veritable bargain, so you’ll still have plenty leftover to feed your trusty steed and buy a round of mead for the brave knights at the tavern. Complete with 6' wooden display stand, so it’s ready to stand guard over your castle or office. Ships by truck in wooden crate. Each suit is made to order. Please allow 4-6 months for delivery.
