When Napoleon's army marched against Russia in 1812, these coins were known throughout Europe as "Napoleons." After the Russians thwarted Napoleon's world conquest, these coins virtually disappeared (the vast majority were melted down or hoarded away). We discovered a small cache of these historic coins and are pleased to pass this marvelous find on to you. Each contains 6.45 grams of .900 pure gold. The obverse features Napoleon's profile in raised-relief. The reverse has the date, denomination and a laurel wreath. 21mm (.84"). Very Fine condition. Each in a protective styrene capsule and displayed in a velvet gift box, complete with certificate of authenticity.
